| CELEBRITY SEATS A NEW FEATURE OF THE ELKS OPERA HOUSE CAPITAL CAMPAIGN… A new and exciting feature to aid in the restoration of the opera house is the offering of named celebrity seats to be purchased for $500 with the name of the honoree inscribed on a plaque on the seat arm. Have you ever heard of “Tony the Wonder Horse”? A seat has been purchased by Thomas E. Slaback to honor that performer on the stage of The Elks Opera House and another seat purchased by the same donor will honor Tom Mix, who appeared with his famous horse on the Elks stage in a benefit show produced by the Monday Club. The Elks Opera House Foundation has adopted a policy to permit a plaque to be inscribed in the name of the honoree, and Elks Opera House Historian Parker Anderson has compiled a list of all who have performed on the state or appeared in a movie shown there.
